For sure. You open the music file you wish to play with the key, and you close it with the lock. You start play with the Audirvana app then control in on StreamMagic. Something wrong with your setup, what playback software are you using? Have you selected your dac in the audio midi output pane of OSX? Excellent dac, I did complete the bitperfect test but I use a pc not a mac. To be honest if it is sounding good I really wouldn't worry too much. The biggest problem with playback using a Mac is that the output is fixed at whatever you set in the Midi audio output preferences. You need to adjust the settings to match the track that you're playing. Otherwise the Mac will up or down sample to whatever is set in the Midi preferences, at which point the output is no longer bit perfect.
Computer audiophiles could squeak by with something as simple as a wired PC acting as the Server and Control Point sending audio to the Renderer of their choice. Selecting solid hardware and software, and configuring both correctly can eliminate most of the ills associated with UPnP audio such as pops, ticks, dropouts and unintended gapped playback. I live in South Africa we simply do not get such exotic equipment here we are limited to the few big names like Cambridge Audio that believe the market is big enough to warrant it. Yes it was me , I have a Cambridge Audio CXN v1 which is uPNP compliant but the only way I could get it to work was to upsample everything before passing to the streamer, hardly bit perfect …. I try each update to see if any correction has been made Alas not.
